I have Been Laying Here, Perfectly Still:

A series of images concerned with the notions of spirituality and contemplation found within the works of the painters and poets of the Romantic Movement in the 18th century.

My wider practice is interested in contemplative and emotional links to our surroundings and how this can evoke resonant responses. These images concentrate on locations, which are untouched, forgotten or purposeless.  Areas on the fringes of postmodern society, left uncontrolled and unmaintained, these locations begin to manifest the ideas of sublimity discussed by the romantics. Representing perhaps the last vestige of wild nature available to us.
